Raman spectroscopy:
Complementary to FT-IR in the identification of unknown chemicals, Raman spectroscopy sees through containers, both glass and polymer, avoiding direct manipulation of the potentially hazardous substance. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC/MS)
Method that combines the characteristics of the gas chromatography and mass spectrometry for the identification of different substances within a sample. The GC-MS technology is well known as the gold standard for the identification of volatile and semi- volatile organic compounds in blends for detection of narcotics, performing environmental analysis, explosives investigation and identification of unknown samples.
